BEIJING, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- Congratulations have been pouring in from foreign leaders and groups for the ongoing 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
President of the Greek Socialist International George A. Papandreou, a former Greek prime minister, said the CPC had contributed greatly to the socio-economic development and prosperity of China and the Chinese people, laying the foundation for the establishment of a more harmonious society.

"I am certain that the important decisions that will be taken in the 18th National Congress will pave the way for a new era of development, stability and success for the party, for China and the Chinese people," he said.
He looked forward to continuing and intensifying cooperation between the two parties in the future.
Vice Chairman of the Belgian Socialist Party Andre Flahaut, who is also president of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives, said he hoped the congress would provide a good opportunity for reflection and to take appropriate decisions that would have a positive and fruitful impact on the Chinese Communist Party and all the Chinese people.
Moustapha Niasse, speaker of the Senegalese Parliament and chief of the Alliance of the Forces of Progress, said the congress contained great significance for the CPC and China, as well as for relations between the CPC and his party.
Karl Erjavec, Slovenia's foreign minister and president of the Democratic Party of Pensioners of Slovenia, said the 18th congress of the CPC represented a significant milestone for the future role of the CPC on the national level and China on the global level.
He said decisions made at the congress would serve as groundwork for future successful economic, social and political development in China.
He hoped that good and sincere long-standing relations between the two parties would rest on friendship and deepened cooperation in the future.
Vasile Blaga, leader of the Democrat Liberal Party of Romania, spoke highly of the achievements the CPC leadership and the Chinese people made in national modernization.
He said in a congratulatory message that both the CPC and his party wanted to improve the well-being of the people, deepen internal reform and promote sustainable development of the economy.
Blaga said his party supported a close and enduring cooperative partnership between China and Romania.
Igor Karpenko, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus, said the congress was a historic event and a new milestone for China to realize the ideal of comprehensive development, progress and prosperity.
Belarus and China were long-tested friends, he said, adding that the great achievements made by the Chinese people inspired Belarussians.
He hoped the friendship between the two parties and the two peoples would deepen further.
Pascal Nyabenda, chairman of the Conseil National pour la Defense de la Democratie-Forces de Defense de la Democratie (CNDD-FDD) of Burundi, said he highly appreciated the irreplaceable role the CPC played in promoting China's development and improving people's well-being.
He firmly believed the achievements of the CPC congress would further strengthen the existing friendly cooperative ties between the two peoples and the two parties.
Redwan Hussien, head of the secretariat of the Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front, said China's economic transformation had not only benefited its own people but also contributed to the world community in general and to the people of Africa in particular.
"We believe that the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China will pass decisions that are significant not only to the challenges of China but also to the challenges of the world economy," he said.
Leader of Brazil's Communist Party Jose Renato Rabelo said in his message that the 18th National Congress of the CPC had attracted worldwide attention because China had achieved remarkable progress and a higher status in the world. The Chinese people, under the leadership of the CPC, had made important contributions to world peace and development.
Chheang Vannarith, executive director of the Cambodian Institute for Cooperation and Peace, said the congress was another historical milestone for both the Chinese people and the global community of nations.
"We believe that, in the next decade, under the wise leadership of the Communist Party of China, Chinese people will continue to enjoy the fruits from the continued political economic reforms and opening up with a scientific development outlook," he said.
"As one of the closest and oldest friends of China, Cambodia believes that the success of China is also the success of its own," he said.
Pinit Jarusombat, former deputy prime minister and president of the Thai-Chinese Culture and Economy Association, said the congress was of vital importance to the promotion of world peace and expansion of cooperation between countries. He wished the Chinese people to achieve new progress in building socialism under the leadership of the CPC.
