hahaha, this article gives the impression that Philipines was tough with the CNese because it has the backup from the US. In reality, when country was invaded the people in that country would defend themself regardless with or without backup from another countries, won or lost the battle was not the keypoint to fight, but defence. Same at home if a thief or a robber came to our home, did anyone of us waited for the backup from the police?

Today the Vietnamese government is trying to say that simply because their former colonial masters briefly had control over these islands, Chinese, the traditional owners of these islands, must accept they belong to Vietnam. What a joke!
You Vietnamese might as well invite your French masters back and claim the whole Indochina as your own territory!

The state of Vietnam didn't even exist in 1938! How on earth was it possible to engage in a battle with Vietnam in 1938!? The French colonists illegally seized these traditional Chinese islands when there was no modern communication technologies at the time and the Chinese were caught off guard.

Further info, in 1974 even the South VN was about to loose the war to the North but they did not just give up the Hoang Sa (Xisha or whatever you called it) to CN. CN could only take it from the battle. You are not telling me because the CN was busy with the JP in the North so the VN got the island, aren't you? If what you said was right then CN did not deserve the island at all. Our nature instinct would tell us not to give up any inch of land or sea to another country without fighting.
